HOW IT WORKS
How to turn a podcast into short clips
- 01
Import a video
Paste a YouTube link or upload your own video. FastClip prepares the source for clipping. Processing time depends on the video and connection.
- 02
Find a complete thought
Watch the source, select a passage in the transcript, or review AI suggestions. Adjust the start and end so the clip makes sense on its own.
- 03
Prepare the clip
Add captions and review the framing. Use your saved publishing templates, then check the generated title, description, and source citation.
- 04
Publish or download
Post or schedule the finished clip to connected Instagram and X accounts. You can also download it and publish elsewhere yourself.

Before you make your first clip
What is a podcast clip maker?
A podcast clip maker turns a selected part of a longer podcast video into a short video you can share. FastClip combines moment selection, captions, reusable publishing templates, and publishing to Instagram and X.
Can I choose the clips myself?
Yes. Set the start and end while watching, or select words in the transcript. AI suggestions give you another starting point; you still choose what to keep and publish.
Can I make clips from YouTube videos?
Yes. Paste a supported YouTube video link into FastClip to import the source. You do not need to download the full video to your device first. Use your own content or content you have permission to reuse.
Does FastClip add captions automatically?
FastClip transcribes speech and creates word-timed captions for your clips. Review the transcript and rendered clip before publishing, especially names and technical terms.
Where can I publish my clips?
FastClip supports direct publishing and scheduling to connected Instagram and X accounts. You can download finished clips for manual publishing elsewhere. Direct publishing to YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn is not currently offered.
Can I use FastClip on my phone?
Yes. The web app works in mobile and desktop browsers. On iPhone, you can also join the public TestFlight beta. A native Android app is not currently offered.
Is FastClip free?
You can sign up without a credit card. The free plan includes 3 YouTube imports, 10 draft clips, 5 finished clips, and 1 direct post each to Instagram and X. Daily limits also apply: 5 drafts and 2 finished clips. These free allowances are totals, not monthly renewals.
Can I repost any podcast I find online?
A public video URL does not give you permission to republish the video. Use content you own or have permission to reuse, and review your responsibilities in the FastClip Terms of Service.
Read our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
